Frequently Asked Questions
Question: What happens if the weather turns out to be bad?
Answer: The majority of events take place in the UK outdoors so unless the conditions are so bad that it represents an unacceptable safety risk then the day will go ahead with appropriate adaptation to match the prevailing conditions. Our intent is to provide a safe and enjoyable day so we may adapt the plan and/or location as needed (including sometimes moving indoors) to make the best of what the weather provides.
Question: What equipment do you provide? What equipment do I need?
Answer: We will provide any special climbing or mountaineering equipment required for the day. We can also provide harnesses and helmets for those who do not have their own. We aren’t able to provide shoes/boots, clothing or other equipment. In all conditions it is advisable to ensure you have appropriate waterproofs and warm clothing - even on the nicest days the UK can deliver 4 seasons unexpectedly! We will email you an advised kit list in advance of the day but please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
Not that it's equipment but you’ll also need to bring food and beverages for the day that should be suited for a high activity level.
Question: Do you use other instructors?
Answer: We can use other instructors to provide additional capacity or for specialist requirements. We only work with qualified instructors who we know well and this would be discussed with you in advance.
Question: Where do you operate?
Answer: We are based in Hertfordshire but typically provide our outdoor services in the Peak District but can also provide services in other areas such as North Wales. If you have something specific in mind please contact us and we’ll work with you to see what we can do.
Question: Can you provide services for children/those under 18?
Answer: We can provide services to those under 18 but they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout the day. Parents can either be involved in the day or just accompany and observe.
Question: What happens in the event of cancellation?
Answer: Bookings cancelled by you within 28 days of an event will be eligible for a 50% refund. Any bookings cancelled within 14 days of the event will not receive a refund. If we cancel we will provide a full refund. We will always try to offer an alternative arrangement if possible.
